Greetings from the Korea-Africa Foundation!
On 1-2 November, the Korea-Africa Foundation will hold the 2nd Model African Union Assembly,
which provides an opportunity to the Korean youth to discuss vivid and specific issue regarding Africa.
The following shall be the agenda topics for the Model AU Assembly:
– Agenda 1: African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA): Effective Implementation and Challenges
– Agenda 2: Role of the African Union (AU) in Resolving Issues of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Forced Migration
For this event, we are inviting African students in Korea to be mentors to the Korean delegates. (one mentor for each country)
On 21 September, the KAF will organize orientation session, and the delegation countries and agenda will be assigned on that day. So if you want to apply for the African Mentor, you should be able to participate in the orientation.
During a preparatory period, mainly in October, African Mentors will support Model AU delegates to provide a better understanding of their countries, which they will be representing, with regard to its history, politics and culture, and providing accurate and up-to-date information on the agenda topics of the 2nd Model AU Assembly.
In addition to that, African Mentors will accompany the matched delegation to the meeting with the represented country’s embassy in Korea.
